## What You Can Post to Mastodon

Mastodon connects with your instance URL and an access token from an application you create on that instance, with the write:statuses and write:media scopes.

### Text Posts

Publish posts of up to 500 characters, the default Mastodon limit.

### Photos

Attach up to 4 photos to a post.

### Videos

Post a single video per post, up to 40 MB.

## Quick Start: Mastodon Posting API

Once Mastodon is connected to a profile, posting is one request. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with an API key from your dashboard and my-brand with your profile name.
