What You Can Post to Telegram

Telegram connects with a bot token from @BotFather and the channel or chat to post to. Your bot must be an admin of that channel or group with permission to post.

Text Messages

Publish messages of up to 4,096 characters to your channel or group.

Photos & Albums

Post a single photo or several photos at once — multiple photos are sent together as an album.

Videos

Share videos up to 50 MB, the Telegram Bot API upload limit.

Quick Start: Telegram Posting API

Once Telegram is connected to a profile, posting is one request. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with an API key from your dashboard and my-brand with your profile name.

curl -X POST https://api.indreelforge.com/api/upload_photos \
  -H 'Authorization: Apikey YOUR_API_KEY' \
  -F 'user=my-brand' \
-F 'title=Behind the scenes from this week' \
  -F 'photos[]=@photo1.jpg' \
  -F 'photos[]=@photo2.jpg' \
  -F 'platform[]=telegram'

This request posts two photos to your Telegram channel as an album. Swap in /api/upload_text or /api/upload for text or video. Read the Telegram guide →

Key Features for Telegram

Your Own Bot

Posts come from a bot you create and control with @BotFather. IndReelForge verifies the token and the bot's access to your chat before saving it, encrypted.

Channels and Groups

Post to a public channel by its @username, or to a private channel or group by its numeric chat ID.

Scheduling

Schedule Telegram posts from the dashboard or the API so updates go out at the right time for your subscribers.

Cross-Platform Posting

Send the same post to Telegram, Discord, X, Instagram and more in one request, with per-platform text overrides like telegram_title.

How It Works

1

Create a Bot

Message @BotFather in Telegram, send /newbot, and copy the bot token it gives you.

2

Make It an Admin

Add the bot to your channel or group as an admin that can post messages.

3

Connect It to a Profile

In the IndReelForge dashboard, open a profile, click Connect next to Telegram and enter the bot token and the channel @username or chat ID. We verify both live.

4

Post via API or Dashboard

Send platform[]=telegram with the upload endpoints, or post and schedule from the dashboard.

Who Uses the Telegram Posting API?

Channel Owners

Keep a Telegram channel active with the same content you publish elsewhere, without copying posts by hand.

E-commerce & Deals

Push product drops and offers with photo albums to subscribers the moment they go live.

Media & Newsletters

Distribute articles, clips and updates to your Telegram audience from your existing publishing workflow.

Telegram API FAQ

Can I post to a Telegram channel via API?

Yes. Connect your bot token and channel to a profile, then send platform[]=telegram with the IndReelForge upload endpoints to post text, photos, albums or videos.

Why does the bot need to be an admin?

Telegram only lets bots post to a channel when they are an admin with permission to post. In groups, the bot needs permission to send messages.

What do I enter as the channel or chat?

A public channel's @username (for example @mychannel), or the numeric chat ID of a private channel or group, which starts with -100.

How big can Telegram videos be?

Up to 50 MB per file, the Telegram Bot API upload limit.
