What You Can Post to WordPress

WordPress connects with your site URL, a username and an application password, through the WordPress REST API. Self-hosted WordPress sites are supported.

Text Posts

Publish standard WordPress posts from the same request that posts to your social accounts.

Posts with Images

Attach images to a post. They are uploaded to your site with the post.

Posts with Video

Publish a post with a video file up to 64 MB (your server's own upload limit may be lower).

Quick Start: WordPress Posting API

Once WordPress is connected to a profile, posting is one request. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with an API key from your dashboard and my-brand with your profile name.

curl -X POST https://api.indreelforge.com/api/upload_photos \
  -H 'Authorization: Apikey YOUR_API_KEY' \
  -F 'user=my-brand' \
  -F 'title=Event recap: Launch Week' \
  -F 'photos[]=@photo1.jpg' \
  -F 'platform[]=wordpress' \
  -F 'wordpress_status=draft' \
  -F 'wordpress_categories=3' \
  -F 'wordpress_tags=12'

This request creates a draft post with a photo on your WordPress site, with a category and a tag, ready for review in wp-admin. Read the WordPress guide →

Key Features for WordPress

Application Passwords

Connect with a WordPress application password instead of your login password. IndReelForge verifies it with your site before saving and stores it encrypted.

Drafts, Categories and Tags

Set wordpress_status to draft to review before publishing, and add wordpress_categories and wordpress_tags (by ID) to file the post.

Scheduling

Schedule WordPress posts from the dashboard or the API alongside the social posts that promote them.

Blog + Social in One Call

Publish to your site and to X, LinkedIn, Facebook and more in one request.

How It Works

1

Create an Application Password

In wp-admin, open Users → Profile → Application Passwords, add a new one, and copy the generated password.

2

Connect It to a Profile

In the IndReelForge dashboard, open a profile, click Connect next to WordPress and enter your site URL, username and application password. We verify them live.

3

Get Your API Key

Generate an API key from the dashboard and send it in the Authorization header of your requests.

4

Publish via API or Dashboard

Send platform[]=wordpress with the upload endpoints, or post and schedule from the dashboard.

Who Uses the WordPress Posting API?

Content Teams

Publish a blog post and its social promotion from one workflow, or save drafts for editorial review.

Agencies

Post to client WordPress sites from the same dashboard and profiles you use for their social accounts.

Automation Builders

Turn n8n, Make or Zapier workflows into WordPress posts with the same API you use for social publishing.

WordPress API FAQ

Can I publish to WordPress via API?

Yes. Connect your site URL, username and an application password to a profile, then send platform[]=wordpress with the IndReelForge upload endpoints.

Does it work with WordPress.com?

IndReelForge supports self-hosted WordPress sites with the REST API enabled.

Can I save posts as drafts?

Yes. Send wordpress_status=draft and the post is saved as a draft instead of being published.

What is an application password?

A separate password WordPress generates for apps, under Users → Profile → Application Passwords. It lets IndReelForge post without your login password, and you can revoke it at any time.
